I agree with you that it is best to attend the meetings if you haven't done Weight Watchers before. Some people are easily tempted to use up all of their points on just the 'treats. The points system is slightly different in the UK. The amount of fibre is not taken into account when calculating the number of points food has. They also change the name of the programs, but the basic concepts are the same. Weight Watchers is the best. I highly recommend it to anyone looking to lose weight.
Great hub, too! Hello everyone! My name is Lisa. Close to a year and half ago I was at the heaviest weight I have ever been in my life! Due to stress from a relationship and 'eating my emotions' I had gained several pounds.
I am 4'9 so didnt look so healthy. I descided to give weight watchers a try especially from hearing such good things about it and actually seeing the results from others.
I weighed in my first time in feb of 08 at pounds. Through the course of year I continued to drop the weight by watching what I ate and following my points. I am now at pounds and cant believe how good I feel.
Its an amazing feeling! Just wanted to tell anyone that is looking into the plans or feeling a little down about themselves that this is a wonderful opportunity. It takes time but if your paitient and willing you will loose as I did an many others. HI - I tried weightwatchers and it does work. The important thing is to stick to the program. Make it a lifestyle change, and not just a diet, that way you dont gain the weight back.
I've tried diets before, they worked for my friends not for myself. So I think each person has to find whats best for them self. I would definetly recommend ww. If your having problems calculating points you can go to the website www. Although you want to lose weight, keep in mind its always a wise decision to lose the weight, and more important to keep it off, have a healthy diet, and excersise.
May God Bless you all - hope you get where you want to be! Hi, would anyone know where I can find a coupon to get a reduced price or free registration.

Just remember to eat your minimun points every day and drink glasses of water every day. Many people try to cut back points to loose more weight but it doesn't work that way. This minimum points raise your motabolism and keeps it to a max in order to burn burn fat. You also need to exercise after the third week or so. You really need to get a point scale from weight watchers and two booklets Dining Out, and Complete Food Guide these will help you through the process.

Today is Monday and I have gained 3 lbs back Hi Robin, looking at your example points made me aware of some of the horrible stuff I consume!
Thanks for an inspiring Hub. It is great that they recognize the consumer's desires and created a separate plan. I know that when my in-laws used it they lost a ton of weight. Unfortunantly, they turned a lot of people off of it by trying to force everyone else to do it and criticizing our own plans. Weight Watchers is one of those companies that will be around a long time because they are flexible to the needs. My office started Weight Watchers about 3 weeks ago.
We are doing Weight Watchers at home. We keep each other honest and weight first thing every monday morning at 8am. There are three of us currently following the program. We have lost 43 pounds together. Great hub. I just became a WeightWatchers Life Time member last month. I've been on this journey for 4 years. I went from pounds to Thanks for the HubPage. Maybe I'll take another look. One caveat for people only reading this now: Weightwatchers has changed the points formula that they use for men.
Men now get more points because their bodies, not surprisingly, are different. Hi there, I am trying to do the weight watchers flex plan without signing up as I don't have a lot of money. I have decided to invest in a gym membership and try to figure out the rest of it on my own. I am wondering how you calculate the points you get back for exercise.
I can find lots of recipes and stay within 22points which is what I need but I am concerned that if I work out, I will plateau if I don't calculate that part correctly as well?? If anyone can get back to me at [email protected] it would be appreciated! I'm new to hub pages and I'm finding so many fun and useful things to read.

Cue the confetti We went to the meetings, weighed in once a week, and together lost weight and learned to change what we eat.
It worked! Unfortunately the three times I reached my goal I eventually lost track and gained the weight back. This has happened once again until recently I decided enough was enough and the first thing that came to mind was how successful I was at Weight Watchers.
As I began to look into signing up again it became apparent there was this Weight Watchers App that I could join instead of going to in person meetings, and what with the pandemic still an issue, I decided to give the app a try, so I signed up for it, and downloaded it. I have been using the app for about a week and a half, and find the App to be amazing! There are so many things wrapped up Into the Weight Watchers App I am already becoming very successful with over 5 pounds of weight lost on my goal to lose 60 pounds.
The app is extremely user friendly in every way! There is even a scanner that scans to food label and you can find out how many points each food item is. There is a tremendous amount of social media related groups as well where I find fantastic support, recipes, and encouragement! For the price of using the app it is a steal! Truly remarkable! Please note that you will not be penalized in any way if you go over your points budget. Those things happen! One nice feature is that your points roll over, so you never have to feel like you are throwing away points if you don't hit your daily budget.
For example, if you eat only 15 points on Monday out of a budget of 16 daily points , you could potentially eat 17 points on Thursday. In addition, users will be rewarded for logging healthy behaviors such as increasing activity, meeting a daily water goal and eating non-starchy vegetables with additional points. The rollovers happen automatically in the WW app. Keep in mind that, while WW pushes well-balanced meals full of protein, fruits, vegetables and nutrients, the company is adamant that no food is off-limits.
ZeroPoint foods are everyday nutritional food items that you don't need to track -- meaning that they aren't counted toward your daily points budget. Everyone's ZeroPoint foods list will be different since it's tailored to your personalized plan. The number of ZeroPoint foods allowed will depend on your plan and taste but some of the basics include:. After counting all of these meals, you would have totaled 16 points. Keep in mind that you have the power to create and plan your meals to your liking.
Depending on the plan you choose, your costs using WW can vary. Keep in mind that your membership cost doesn't include the price of ingredients. Here's a breakdown of the weekly costs:. The user-friendly WW app is one of the best parts of the program. Since you bring your phone everywhere, your dieting plan can come, too.
Recent research has a lot to say about the relationship between WW users and weight loss. While there are plenty of tempting fad diets to choose from, evidence seems to suggest that WW is the real deal. Another study from found that Weight Watchers and another popular dieting program, Jenny Craig, were effective in helping a test group lose weight.
The study concluded that health physicians could recommend either program to patients who are looking to lose weight. WW is not a one-size-fits-all program. It is not recommended if you don't have the time to plan or track your food each day.
It's not for those who deeply struggle with self-control and portion sizing.
