Brilliant cast,brilliant soundtrack and superb sceneries in the show makes it my all-time fave. The story To many people,this show is simply just a drama that's entertaining. However,I guess people who think that way failed to look deeper into the dialogue between the leads I guess they aren't makes this a must watch for Dorama fans. Not to forget the lovely soundtrack of the show. My personal all time fave! Reviewed by GunGod on 15 June But this time I buckled down and watched it and to to my surprise, it was a very well made drama, that is, if you allow yourself to get immersed in it.
It is not face paced, and there's a lot of character development since it mainly focuses on the two guys, so that had a lot to work with. It's pretty much a friendship thing between two guys, and since there's isn't alot of conflict, hate, and all those other things found in dramas to spice up the plot, so it's easy to lose interest.
The two leads are both big now, plus Hirosue Ryoko. So in retrospect, it's an all star cast, so it's a real treat to watch all three of them. Overall, a soft, easy going drama that leaves you feeling light hearted. Reviewed by Hiro Toyo on 18 March Takashi played his normal goof off role kind of like in GTO and in Cheap love.
He is realy good in those types of roles. Also Yutaka was awsome too. He looked realy young in this kind of differnt then usual he played a business man that was trying to relax and have a vaction and it turned out to last for about 3 months.
It is a good summer drama it was great to watch I love the charactors and the actors very much. I would recomend any body to watch this drama. Watch it!! Serve it cold, just like the storyline, serve it hot, Yutaka and Takashi warm and tickle my taste buds. The first 10mins of the show was hilarious and cheeky. I managed to watch disc 2 and could not continue despite the hunks.
Gomen guys! But it has a deeper meaning and this whole dorama is very mellow and peaceful. Besides, I always love the beach. The view of the beach is amazing and I like it a lot. The camaraderie between the cast members was evident although the plot throughout the entire series didn't really go anywhere.
Still, a fun series to watch to pass the time! In the opening scenes, director Rieko Ishizaka reveals her artistic pretensions through her use of an unsteady handycam and weird saturated colours to set off the flashbacks of our two young heroes, Hiromi Sakurai Takashi Sorimachi and Kaito Suzuki Yutaka Takenouchi.
The freeloading Hiromi has been kicked out by his girlfriend Fujiko Kaori Tsuji , and ends up in a police parking garage after sleeping in his illegally parked tiny white Renault. Meanwhile, the rich and successful Kaito stands on his rooftop patio, stinging from his loss of a major client for the huge multinational trading company where he works.
The two head for the sea, and meet for the first time when Kaito spots Hiromi pushing the same Renault in search of a gas station. Hiromi is hired as help, but Kaito having lost his wallet in the crash, is forced to share the servants' room. Okada's expert pen captures well the excitement and hardships of travelling in the summer as a youth. Neighbour Haruko Izumi Inamori runs a beachside bar which is mostly empty. The pleasing echo of chimes, the crashing of the waves, and the near deafening chirp of Japan's everpresent cicadas mark the time and place as unmistakably summer on a country beach.
